I have always found great comfort
and incredible joy in the world of words.
When we were young, my Mother would take my brother and I aside after dinner and read to us.
As we grew a little older, she encouraged us to find our own books of interest by taking us on weekly trips to the community library. the nightly readings continued to develop until we would take turns reading pages aloud.
eventually those times would pass and reading would become a more personal space.
a dimension for sharing dreams and experiences.
A silent refuge from an increasingly difficult world
of growing comprehension and adult inspired decisions.
As with most families, My parents and grandparents
have been my greatest teachers. However, were it not
for the creative works of the human mind and the power of language to inspire, It would be impossible for me to imagine the infinite extent towards which we can reach.
Here are some of the words i have found, without music, to express and learn the depths of my own spirit.
some of it is angry, a lot of it is naive and most of it is hopeful but all of it is true of me in and around those times.
